College Days
It’s time for college! It’s time we set out and have some fun. Time for keg parties, trips to Panama! And why shouldn’t it be? We’re young and healthy. We’re virile and on our own. This is why we’ve worked through all those years of grade-school. What’s there to hold us back now?
Well… there is that one little thing, grades. But how hard can it be to keep those up? Not hard, obviously. I mean, they did it on ‘How High’, and ‘Van Wilder’, surely we can have twice as much fun and get even better grades, right?
For most of us this is nothing more than a pipe dream. Once you get past your first semester, you’ll likely discover that college is not all it’s cracked up to be. Now that you’ve failed half your classes and made D’s on the rest, your scholarships are gone, and now you’ve got to get a job to pay for tuition.
Well it’s not all that bad. Everyone should have a job, right? It builds character, separates the men from the boys. But… once you start to work you’ll probably begin to wonder, “If I didn’t have time to study without a job, how will I pull it off with one?”
In my third year this is pretty much where I am. Okay, maybe a little bit better, a C average. Potatoes po-tah-toh’s I say. The point is I’ve decided to do something about it. No more up-all-nighters, stress fits, over-stimulation, or trash food. Time to eat, sleep, and study right. While I’m at it I’m going to get a new job, one that I don’t dread going into every day. Eventually, that is.
This blog is my narrative of self-experiments. Each of which will be designed to improve myself physically, psychologically, or intellectually. Hopefully these experiments will do just that – improve me. I’ll let you know exactly how these experiments go as well as what I’m up to in general. At times, I may even ask you of your own experiences, opinions, and ideas.
